ExpatPortugal.guide is a community-driven website for English-speaking expats in Portugal. We are operated as a personal project and are not a registered company at this time.
We collect only the data you voluntarily provide:
Email addresses — when you subscribe to our newsletter, post a housing listing, submit a place, or send a message through the platform.
Listing information — business names, descriptions, cities, and contact details you provide when listing a place, service, or housing.
Messages — when you contact a housing lister through our platform, we store the message to facilitate the connection.
Email addresses are used to send our Sunday Digest newsletter (via Buttondown) and, for housing listers, to facilitate inquiries about their listings. We do not sell, share, or rent your email address to third parties.
Payments for housing listings and business claims are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment processing.
We do not use tracking cookies or analytics cookies. We use Vercel for hosting, which may set functional cookies. No advertising cookies are used.
We use the following third-party services: Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Buttondown (newsletter), Anthropic (AI chat). Each has their own privacy policy.
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@expatportugal.guide.
Every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to be removed.
